Dear Tesla,

One of my life goals is to own one of your cars. I see your technology as revolutionary and efficient. Making transportation more comfortable and beneficial for the environment is a cause I both support and see value in.  

Although I’m a fan of your technology I wish you had a bigger range of models and designs. So here is an idea. What if you could get the engine, what makes Tesla so efficient, and put it in any model car? In the status quo, electric cars are few if ever produced by most major manufacturers. In fact, an average of far less than 1% of manufacturers produces an electric car. And often what they do produce is extremely limited in range and volume, not to mention vastly less efficient compared to your motors. 

At your very foundation Tesla, I know you strive to have a world where your cars are the electric replacement for these gas-powered beasts. So to achieve that dream we need to increase demand. Here is a mix of a marketing and business strategy. 

Data shows that a third of new car buyers won’t even consider a specific model if they don’t like the exterior styling. That’s 30 percent of car buyers, image the opportunity. I’m a big fan of innovating and thinking outside of the box. I think that either licensing out your motors to other companies or working in sync with other vehicle brands would be incredible. I mean imagine a Rolls Royce with a Tesla engine. I can’t think of anything more awesome.

I can see a BMW rolling down the street that is completely battery powered. Or a Hummer that isn’t a gas guzzler. Hypothetically as demand grows you can have any exterior vehicle brand with a Tesla engine. I think this could open a lot of opportunities and revolutionize the car industry. Your founder Elon Musk said “Tesla Motors was created to accelerate the advent of sustainable transport” what better way to accelerate than to innovate?

So Tesla, let’s create the future.
