This is a defense.
A defense of ideas, products, actions that are commonly held to be negative but are really positive.
Broccoli. This victimized green has suffered quite the bad reputation. I find the view of broccoli to be misplaced. I disagree that broccoli tastes bad. In contrast, I think there is a lack of flavor that makes broccoli the perfect vessels to hold sauces, like ranch. And ranch is an unwavering positive.
Phone calls. The fear of calling someone up on the old fashion telephone is a prevalent fear. However, the only way to get over this fear is to practice it. In addition that direct verbal communication can be an easy way to clear up written confusion.
Giving gift cards. As the holidays draw near I find my position needing to be defended more and more. Giving gift cards is often frowned upon. The idea is that giving a gift card shows a lack of thoughtfulness. Although I agree giving personal gifts can be great, in my opinion, there is nothing more thoughtful than giving someone the gift of choice. To spend their money where they like. When someone buys me a $50 pursue I can’t help but think I could get the same value from a $15 from ebay.
Talking to the elderly. Yes, this can be an endeavor that may have no near ending in site but I’ve found it to be an endeavor worth pursuing. I’ve gained a lot of wisdom from talking to the elderly.
Going for a run. The hardest thing to do is take the first step. The rest is a bomb playlist.
Talking about politics. Forget the conversation dynamite and just focus on learning from the other persons’ perspective. I find that people I disagree with politically 99% of the time think their opinion is better and will help the most people. They do not hold the opinion out of spite. Seek to understand.
Taylor Swift. What can I say, she is an icon. Mastering most genres she puts her mind to she remains a musical wizard.
