I have things that I look forward to daily.
One of which is blogging.
However, after I write my blog I often feel an undue sense completeness.
Not to say that writing daily shouldn’t give you a feeling of accomplishment but it can often make me feel like I’ve accomplished “enough.”
Almost as if my work is done for the day.
Well spoiler, it isn’t.
To prevent falling into unproductivity I’ve been putting my writing off into the evening. Ironically, I was able to function most efficiently when this important daily task was at the bottom of my priority list.
I’ve also found that this practice has increased the quality of my writing. Because I put off writing until the end of the day I can think about what I’m going to write about throughout the day. Often, I’ll already have an idea on what to write on, but being able to stew over it and gain more clarity before writting has proven to be helpful.
I feel like this experience was a good reminder that you need to trust yourself. What works for you won’t work for everyone and that’s ok. Try out systems for yourself and make them your own.
