Jealousy, the accomplice to comparison.

We are constantly comparing ourselves.

We evaluate our lives against someone else’s.

Comparing isn’t always negative however when accompanied by jealousy it makes a poisonous duo.

Jealousy often diverts our attention to compare everything about ourselves to only the good in another person’s life.

It’s not our habit when comparing jealously to compare the great parts of our lives to the life of someone we don’t admire.

Otherwise, we might come away as grateful for what progress we have made.

Jealousy creates a dangerous illusion and obscures our vision from seeing the complete story of someone else’s life. Jealousy focuses in on the perfections and blurs out the imperfections.

In the spotlight is their beauty, their joy, their successes and their rewards.

While conveniently of stage are their pains their failures and their loss. After all who get’s jealous of another person’s failures?

Jealousy paints an incomplete and deceptive picture.

Like a Leonardo Di Vinci who paints the MonaLisa the first time holding a brush. We all know this is not the full story and leaves out his work to get to that level.

Jealousy ignores the hours of work that generated the salary — the sacrifice of time that could have been spent with friends or family. It tends to overlook the years of practice, confusion, or failure that preceded the success. It discounts the cost of the benefit.

Do let jealously guide you.
