There’s a lot of noise.
Whether it be the constant flood of updates on your social media feeds or reports on numerous people and events going on around the world.
How you deal with this noise is imperative to your productivity, wellbeing, and happiness.
The common response to this noise is reactive.
Either to join in or get consumed by a noise hurricane. The later response is what I see most commonly assumed. This reactive response of getting consumed is one that is taken without much analysis.
The alternative response is to identify what noise distracts you the most. This is a key factor to identify because focus is the champion for productivity. Therefore making distraction the antithesis which is present in the constant noise.
In my personal experience as well as studies of great leaders, I notice the vast majority of the good that is accomplished, occurs when you deliberately block out this noise. Focus on what you’re good at, and consistently utilize.
