When talking to my peers, who are usually approaching the end of their senior year, I notice that they are very job focused.
They go to college so they can get a good job.
They turn in their assignments to keep a high GPA so they can get a good job.
They participate in extracurriculars so they can get a good job.
They build a resume so they can get a good job.
However, most of these factors do not pertain to the single question employers ask when they are considering hiring you.
“Will this person add value to my company?”
What would help answer this question, and ultimately land my peers this “good job” they seek is simple.
Show how you will create value.
