The filter with which you see the world

To understand others you must first understand yourself.

Your worldview, how you perceive the world, is the filter which your actions, thoughts, and opinions sift through. Becoming increasingly aware of this filter will lead to a more productive and happy life. There may be childhood assumptions that have unknowingly become a part of this filter that you are interested in removing. Upon further inspection, there may be clear activities that bring you joy.

Knowing the ins and outs of the lens through which you perceive the world helps you to become a better more well-rounded person.

Steve Jobs, someone who was very in tune with his world view is a good example of how he used his great understanding of what he wanted to increase efficiency. Not someone who found joy in fashion he decided to minimize the effort spent dressing every morning. Where the same iconic black turtleneck and jeans he was able to minimize things that didn’t give him joy and instead spend that time on other activities he did enjoy.

Similarly, we should strive to have an understanding of ourselves and what gives us joy to become more efficient and happy people.
