As I continue to develop my objectives for this blog I’ve identified an area ripe for improvement.
My writing. You’d never have guessed, right?
Of course, simply writing daily has an enormous positive impact on my ability to write.
However, I know I can improve my writing even farther by focusing on the quality. I’ve written a couple action items below to do so.
- Spend more time reading. There are a lot of people who are killing it in the daily writing space and generally creating a solid brand and presence for themselves. Currently, I’m not spending consistent time learning from those people. To solve this, I’m going to spend 20 minutes each day reading content from people who are writing on topics similar to me either something by, Seth Godin, Isaac Morehouse, Tony Robbins, or something from FEE.
- Share More Tips. My go-to writing voice is one of self-reflection. I think that’s important and gives the reader a genuine look into who I am. However, there is a lot of value in giving. Sharing more specific tips or insight relevant to my target audience is something I want to make a conscious effort to share.
- Identifying My Space. My writing has been largely undirected up to this point, I’ve spent a couple weeks writing on one topic but I want to narrow down the topics to ones I want to establish myself as a leader in. A couple of those topics are: education, self-help, specifically fighting against comparison, developing leadership skills in myself and others, as well as sharing business insight.
I love daily blogging. It’s truly been a life-changing experience and challenge. Can’t wait to see where this more directed approach takes me.
