Shared Services, The Future?

Uber and Airbnb, stand as two companies leading the shared service industry.

They’ve proven the need and massive demand for shared services.

After the increased popularization and use of the two services, Uber and Airbnb, we’ve seen a multitude of new companies and ideas in the shared server space arise.

As this industry continues to grow I think there are a few important signals to identify.

  1. More individual freedom = more prosperity. I believe that an increase in shared services also results in an increase in general prosperity. This is specifically because empowering individual people to have the ability to make better choices for themselves than anyone else. Continuing to empower that individual decision is generally beneficial. Many of us didn’t like the idea of getting into a strangers car 2 years ago, however just because you don’t think the idea doesn’t seem appealing doesn’t mean others won’t.
  2. Create more bosses. People who are their own boss often have more flexibility and access to opportunities otherwise not realized. Being your own boss holds you accountable to an increased level of personal responsibility.

If we want an increasingly free and prosperous people, it looks as if shared services are going to be in our future.
