What Story is Your Body Language Telling?

You’ve communicated volumes before, and sometimes completely without, saying a word.

How often are we, and others, interpreting how you act without deeply evaluating what you say?

Verbal communication makes up only 7 percent of an interaction, where 93 percent is non-verbal.

The vast majority of what leaves an impression is because of additional factors like body language, not the actual words themselves.

Being completely transparent – I’ve been failing to provide excellent communication to my team through my body language this week.

Generally, I like to hold my opinion in – sometimes internalizing and thinking to the point of fault.

If you aren’t engaging – providing insights – encouraging and affirming – you come off as distant.

Be engaged – even when you don’t feel like you have additional insights – you need to articulate and “show your work.”

Explain to others what you are doing – and how you’re doing it.

This way they aren’t in the dark as to how you’re feeling.

Think about the story that you’re telling – when no words are being spoken.
