Send Me Your Best Cold Email

Send me your best cold email.

Seriously, do it.

Here’s my email address: beelielizabeth@gmail.com

Now, you’ve got no excuse.

Need additional convincing? I’ll give you some feedback on what you can do to improve.

This idea was inspired by a friend of mine who sent me an email for the real estate group she’s involved in.

For the sake of anonymity, I’ll include my reply not the original email below.

Hey ___,

It’s awesome to see you pursuing your dreams in real estate!
In my current role, leading business development at EquitySim, I do a lot of copywriting for our email campaigns. That being said, I wanted to see if I could add some value to this campaign by sharing some insight from my experience.
Two things I like about this email are that it:
– Identifies the audience, people who already have a job but could gain value through real estate.
– Has a value proposition that appeals to this audience: 4 ways to make money without quitting their job.
One thing that might be helpful is to have a clearer call to action. As a reader, there’s a lot going on:
– it appears I can register for some kind of class/seminar, but nowhere in this email do I get a clear picture of what I’m registering for. Additionally, when I do select “Register Now” there is no itinerary or details about the event, which might be a valuable addition.
– I would identify the #1 thing you want your audience to do. Whether that be to register for an event or buy or sell a property. Then, experiment with how you clearly frame that call to action and see what works to generate more leads.
I don’t know if ______ Real Estate Group has a blog, I couldn’t find it on the website, but creating a blog to promote quality content, as well as distribute on your social media accounts for your audience to engage in, could be a valuable addition as well.
Cheering you on from San Francisco!
Best,
Elizabeth
P.S. I noticed the site after selecting “Register Today” was not secured – but the “Buy Today” and “Sell Today” were secured.
The challenge still stands, will you accept it?
