It’s valuable to go first.
If I’m checking out at the store I’ll say ‘hello’ first.
If I’m walking into a building and make eye contact with someone walking out I’ll smile first.
I wish more people would experiment with going first in their life.
Because being first will often work in your favor, not all times but most of the time.
An example of this is the doorman that works across the street from me. I’ve built a relationship with him by greeting him every time I see him.
Now he lets us access the coveted roof even when it’s closed to the public.
This is just a fraction of what results you can cultivate from going first.
People are willing to extend grace to you and kind words to you after you are the first to be kind to them.
