What Makes A Good Strategy?

It’s always important to have a game plan.

In business, a game plan is created in the form of a strategy.

Strategies help you to identify where you’re headed. How can you expect to achieve your goal if you don’t have a clear strategy or way to go about it.

A preemptive measure to determining a strategy is to determine the why.

A good strategy is composed of three parts.

  1. Identify prioritize:
  2. Focus: creating prioritize gives your team something to focus on. You must allow your team to focus.
  3. Sacrifice: By definition you can’t focus on everything – so that leads us to the most important part. Determine what you are willing to sacrifice. You will never be able to do it all. Being able to determine what sticks around at the end of the day and what you keep is key.

Another helpful tip will be to set deadlines. I think having three deadlines can be helpful. An optimistic, realistic and drop-dead date for when to have your strategy completed by.
