My Roadblock to Becoming a Clear Communicator

The longer I live the more I realize how hard it is to communicate.

It’s very difficult for any two people, much less a group, to accurately convey meaning to one another.

Personally, I’ve identified a weaknesses of mine when it comes to clear communication.

Rashness

I tend to give bits and pieces of the picture and not the whole picture.

When I communicate based on the assumption that my audience can see exactly what’s going on in my head it leads to confusion.

I communicate too quickly which is not efficient.

When considered, it’s obvious that presenting an incomplete or factions of an idea makes misinterpretation easy.

Someone can easily misinterpret something other than what you intended and it will largely be your fault for not conveying the full picture, e.g. not communicating clearly.

This is something I’ve just begun consciously improving, but I’m excited to see where more deliberate and careful thinking and do to improve the clarity of my communication.
