Does “Leverage” Apply To Reactions?

It’s interesting to consider context.

Specifically the context of the word “leverage.”

We often think about “leverage” in the context of leveraging your time, resources and connections.

But how often do we think about leveraging in the context of reactions or emotions?

Reactions, just like resources and time can be leveraged.

(Also worth noting, things like your time and emotions are all things that can have the opposite effect and weigh you down.)

If found in a situation where you are tempted to compare take a moment to ask yourself “what reaction is going to help me achieve what I want?”

If I compare and internalize envy, and insecurity, am I leveraging my emotions and how I react to achieve what I want?

Personally, I can speak to the fact that I do not enjoy feeling envious and insecure after comparing.

Consider leveraging your emotions to feel inspired by someone else’s success – not letting your emotions foster jealousy or resentment.

Live a more fulfilled life by leveraging your reactions.
