Task vs Strategy

A task gives you a very limited perspective.

A strategy allows you to step back and think big picture.

Ask yourself, what is the objective and end goal?

If your strategy is to increase the number of pickles you eat in a day, you’ll be able to quickly decide that buying 10% more pears is not going to increase the number of pickles you eat.

However, if you are task focus you are simply thinking in terms of, did I get x, y, and z done. And if the answer is “yes” then you easily fall into the trap of viewing that as “success”.

However, at the end of the day, the completion of a long set of tasks might not be pushing the overarching strategy or goal.
