While waiting in line for boba, not 3D printed Boba unfortunately, I overheard two individuals discussing The Sunk Cost Fallacy.
I was excited to hear them talking about such an important topic!
But moments later I was dismayed to hear them define the fallacy incorrectly.
Although slightly disappointed that the true implications of the fallacy were missed, this experience provided a great personal learning moment.
Overhearing their conversation, made me reflect on when I’m on the opposite side of the table. When I am the one doing the explaining incorrectly and to reflect on what others may feel when that is the case.
Note to self: Be transparent about what you do and do not know. And if you are uncertain, especially being transparent about that.
