It’s All In The Framing

I define framing as presenting an idea, project, or yourself in a desired context.

Too often we forget or underutilize this ability.

What’s the frame your ideas are being perceived in?

Is it the frame you want them to be perceived in? If not, why?

Each way that an idea is framed will leave your audience with a different take away.

For example, if you have two flavors of ice cream, chocolate and vanilla, and present the choice to the audience, to choose one you may get a different result than if you told the audience your favorite ice cream flavor was chocolate before giving them the option to choose.

In meetings are you coming into the frame with an outsiders perspective or are you speaking as a member of the team, on a peer to peer basis, who is aware and looking to solve these problems?
