I’m afraid that because we have a soda machine, standing desks and pizza Fridays people will think we’ve made it, forgeting the hustle, and innovation that got us to where we are today.

I’m sure this is a concern for many companies, even one’s that don’t offer their employees such benefits.

This is because comfort can be a tricky beast, creeping up stealthily, sometimes in the form of a stealthy soda machine (if you can imagine it) and sometimes not.

The truth of the matter is that no matter the stage, no matter the company, there is always so much to figure out. There is always a need for innovation and hustle.

And it’s your job as an employee, a stakeholder in the company, to remember that it’s not the ease of the ride and amount of Coca-Cola you can consume along the way, but to focus on innovating and hustling.

It’s what got you here after all.
