Your Instincts Are Wrong

I went rock climbing outside for the first time this weekend in beautiful Maple Canyon, Utah and it was a blast!

However, a common mistake of beginner climbers is to use their hands to pull up their entire body weight. This quickly exhausts your arm and will make you shake like a leaf.

I speak from experience.

However, these instincts to first use your arms is so ingrained in must of us that it takes some serious practice to overcome it.

Sometimes your instincts are wrong and you need people who have more experience, that you trust, to explain why and showcase the benefits of acting against your instincts.

Analogously, when starting a company there are often things you’ll need to do that feel against your instincts, which is why having someone with experience so valuable.
