I think about starting a company, a lot.
One thing that is slightly counter intuitive to starting a company is the enormous, and often overlooked, inherent benefit of having a cofounder, sometimes two.
But when creating a company, taming a beast, shaping an idea, training a dragon, it requires a deep relationship of trust, comfortability, respect, and vulnerability.
This should not be taken lightly.
I would argue that working on a project with a potential cofounder is a non negotiable precursor.
And closely following that is the absolute essential ability to say “I don’t know x thing” and to not feel ridiculed, belittled, or less than for your honestly.
This is something that I find particularly impactful, and indicative to the level of success found, in a cofounder dynamic.
