If you’re planing a trip to Hong Kong here are a few recommendations.
- Visit the secluded Tsz Shan Monastery, reserve tickets, which are free, in advance.
- En route to the monastery, don’t miss the vibrant Tai Po market.
- For a unique dining experience with a casual atmosphere, check out the Australia Dairy Company, known for its direct and hurried service.
- Spend a few hours exploring the impressive Hong Kong Museum of Art, which is one of my favorite museums in Asia.
- Hong Kong’s dim sum is outstanding, and One Dim Sum has both high quality and affordability, with dishes costing around $3 USD. Be sure to try their egg buns!!
- Visit a dai pai dong restaurant for a diverse selection of street food.
- If in season, don’t miss the opportunity to savor McDonald’s wings and shake fries – a must-try.
- Experience the iconic Ding Ding street trolley and the Star Ferry, both of which you can ride for as little as 50 cents.
Other things we did that I thought were overrated was the M+ museum and Victoria peak.
I loved Hong Kong. Getting around with just English was fine for the most part and there’s a lot of ethnic diversity.
