A 4:30 am arrival laid the foundation for a knock out nap on the softest surface available, a wooden bench.

Upon waking, I enjoyed breakfast at Toast Box, opting for their signature Kaya toast, a delectable combination of coconut jam and a generous layer of butter on toasted bread.

Shortly thereafter a second breakfast followed of tom yum soup from 7/11.

After meeting up with some friends we went to a hainanese chicken rice place. One of the best meals I’ve had in Asia, and I’m saying that as someone who has had a lot of good food.

After lunch we hit the mall and Garden by the Bay to explore their world class Cloud Forrest, Flower Dome, and 7:45 pm Garden Rhapsody light show.

A very successful first day in Singapore.
