No need to go to the circus; hit up your local yoga studio for some Ashtanga yoga to witness insane flexibility.
Support your entire body on one arm? No problem.
Hold a plank while bringing one knee to your chest? Become one with the sweat.
Equally intense to the moves is the dedication of the attendees. The baseline level of flexibility was way above the average, not to mention the most flexible people were in their 50s, something to aspire to.
Being the only ethnic foreigner in the class, I was the kid watching the others to know what to do next, as the teacher spent over half of the class walking among the attendees and not demonstrating the moves.
Not wanting to be caught in an uncomfortable situation I was internally hoping “…please don’t talk to me because I’m not going to be able to understand you.”
Oh, to be a student with a language barrier.
Reminds me of my students.
