10 Things I Learned When Visiting Dubai

Dubai is an emirate within the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Emirates are the equivalent of states.

There are seven Emirates.

The Emirates united in 1971, in a way similar to how the various U. S. states have united, making it a very very new country with only a 53 year history.

88% if the population of UAE are expatriates.

It’s basically impossible to become a citizen of UAE unless you’re an Arab or marry an Emirati.

Each Emirates has their own monarchy but the monarch is the capital (Abu Dhabi) is considered the face of the country.

There’s no income or sales tax.

Firms with 20-49 employees must employ at least one Emirates.

UAE has a very low crime rate, beating out Switzerland, Italy and South Korea.

I love Dubai.
