2024 is the year of valuing your time.
If you’re reading a book that’s not enjoyable, edifying, or informative, put it down.
Weyward – I found this book because it won a Goodreads award for best historical fiction. I waited over a month to get it from the library because it was so popular and was excited to read it. However, after chapter 7, I couldn’t take an additional few hundred pages of what felt like a poorly written romance thriller.
The Sun Also Rises – Oh, Hemingway. I’m still in the process of forming my thoughts on his writing. East of Eden has been on my list for a while, and although the first few chapters of this book had some good sentences, the plot was absolutely unable to involve me in its various comings and goings from the French bars. The setting felt similar to Giovanni’s Room but less engaging.
The Arabian Nights – After reading what felt like the same story for the third time, I had to turn in these folklore tales.
