London Guide

My time in London was far too short.

I didn’t even get to go to 221B Baker Street.

I also logged over 31k steps in a day, it was astounding.

Eats

  • The best meal I had in England was on the ferry ride from France to England. Beans on toast actually hits.
  • Pimlico Traditional Fish And Chips – An absolutely enormous amount of fries (wait, I mean chips), and fish. Was it very good? No. Was it still something I’d recommend you try? Yes.
  • Greggs – I was recommended to go here by a friend for a classic English experience in the form of a meat pie. I do not believe that’s an experience one needs.

Sights

  • White Cliffs of Dover – Absolutely stunning. This was such a memorable first glimpse of England. If you arrive from sea, definitely try to arrive from the south.
  • The National Gallery – One of the best perks of England: most museums are free. Truly nontrivial, world-class works on every wall.
  • Trafalgar Square –I wish I had more time to just sit and people-watch for an hour or two.
  • Hyde Park – Beautifully expansive and serene. Hard to believe such calm exists in the heart of a buzzing city.
  • Buckingham Palace – Catch the Changing of the Guard on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 11:00 AM.
  • The Shard – Saw it, didn’t go up — next time I might. Still impressive from the ground.
  • London Eye – Saw it.
  • St. Paul’s Cathedral – Once the tallest building in London, designed to bring you spiritually (and physically) closer to God. You feel the intention.
  • Big Ben – Truly stunning. I swear I noticed a subtle lean with my own eyes — or maybe that was just awe.
  • Palace of Westminster & Westminster Abbey – Absolutely intricate. So much detail, it feels carved out of time.
  • House of Commons – Not enough yelling.
  • Tower of London – Has an eerie feel to it, for understandable reasons.
  • London Bridge – Fun to walk across!
