Ultimately every employer wants to know the answer to a simple question. Will you do the job I hire you for well?
Answering that question before you’ve been hired is the biggest trump card you have.
However, this can be a hard feat for students to accomplish when applying to certain industries.
For example, investment banking, which is extremely competitive.
In the status quo, students submit fluffy resumes and reference lists.
Banks seek out students from top schools with high GPAs.
The problem: neither factors indicate if the applicant will be a good investment banker.
Now GPA, references, and resumes are not completely irrelevant factors but they do not effectively speak to whether students can perform the task well or not.
So how can students showcase their skills without having a history in investment banking?
The answer is through simulations.
