Non-advice is defined as giving advice that is not helpful, often because it’s non-specific.
For example the advice to: ‘focus, focus focus’ is lacking a key element.
It doesn’t provide a direction or item to focus on.
It can be scarily surprising how easy it is to just nod your head and go along with what is being said, taking ‘non-advice’ as truth. Asking these foundational questions like: “how is that applicable to me” and getting specific will help maintain quality advice.
