Why do you do what you do?
Human behavior is motivated by two elements, pain and pleasure.
These factors play an important role, and being motivated by what gives you tremendous joy (pleasure) versus doing something to avoid feeling bad (pain) can impact the outcome tremendously.
For example, when serving others I used to say it was because I felt bad, because if there was an opportunity to serve and I didn’t do it I would feel bad, but the better perspective on why is because it brings me tremendous joy .
This perspective gives me a cheerful spirit whereas being motivated by fear makes me feel guilty.
