On Design

Since reading The Fountainhead I’ve been thinking more about architecture.

The power and message a building can convey.

This inevitably lead to some internet research, learning about the history of architecture, famous architects like Frank Lloyd, who designed the “Fallingwater house” shown above, and watching various architecture courses online.

My favorite take away from what I’ve learned about architecture is it’s formula: problem solving + idea = building.

Your problem is closely tied with your client, what are they trying to accomplish in the building, what is important to them, what does success look like.

The better you now the people that are going to use your building the better your design.
