“I can afford that.”
This can mean a variety of things.
- I have enough money in my bank account to cover the cost of this item.
- I can qualify for a loan that will allow me to purchase this item.
This is a limited view of the word “afford.”
Abiding by the above definition you can “afford” something that is 3, 4, 10 times above its market value simply.
To avoid comparison shopping and being aware of market value is leaving money on the table.
