A Worthwhile Endeavor

Love means so much, yet it is often used to convey very little.

I love that shirt.

I love my child.

Does love mean the same thing in those two contexts?

I once wrote a speech about the over use of the word love. Arguing that we should reserve the word love for things we, well, love.

For example, the Greeks’ have 6 different words for love. They are meticulously specific about identifying the correct kind of love.

And although using love flippantly isn’t terrible, being precise with your language is a worthwhile endeavor.
