The third tier on Maslow’s hierarchy states that people want to be seen.
And as a logical progression, if you agree with Maslow’s statement it follows that helping other people feel seen is a significant positive.
So how do you show others you see them?
Perceptive questions are a great way to do this.
Ones that show you’re paying attention.
It seems like you have a lot going on right now.
How can I help?
I remembering you saying you were going to try ____. How’s that going?
Intently listening to what they say.
When was the last time you deliberately made someone feel seen?
