Disappointment hides in the shadows of unmet expectations.
Alternatively, you’ll find a spark of delight upon receiving something you didn’t expect.
(Barring it’s not a tragedy, like thinking you’re going to In-N-Out and it’s literally anything else.)
For example, I just learned a moose can hold its breath for up to a minute feeding on plants at the bottom of a lake.
Imagine canoeing and a moose pops its head up from under the water.
I’d loose my mind.
Less so now that I know it’s a possibility, but still.
If I thought a moose had a much longer ability to hold their breath I’d be disappointed.
How are you setting expectations?
Are they setting people up for delight or disappointment?
