How To Navigate A New Role

I made a career switch.

Moving from a sales role to a product role.

My day to day is completely different now.

My goals have changed drastically.

I’m evaluated on a breadth of items, many of which are new to me, instead of a few.

My success is not individually achieved but collectively accomplished.

This change is difficult because in many ways I feel less successful than I was before, partially because of how straightforward success in sales is and partially because of the longer timelines and failures needed to solve these new challenges.

Thankfully there’s a formula for achieving success.

It starts with understanding expectations.

Prioritizing your best bet to accomplish those expectations.

Break it down into daily and weekly goals.

Verify with a manager.

Get to work.
