A very rich man had three children.
He split his inheritance equally among them.
He then asked them to act generously.
The first child kept it all.
The second child spent it all.
And the third child gave away the entire inheritance as soon as it was received.
The first and second child protested that the ask to be generously wasn’t fair. The money was theirs, they could do with it as they wanted.
The third child loved the father, and wanted to please him. It was hard to give away the money, but it was worth it.
Sometimes is better to be generous than to be fair.
