What used to be Czechoslovakia, now just Slovakia.

I don’t know if this has enough entries to be deemed a guide, but…I spent 3 hours in Slovakia, and that seemed to be enough.

Activities

• Bratislava Castle
  • One of the few successful fortresses that kept the Mongols out was in ruin for 140 years before reconstruction in 1953. Incredibly square castle. People joke that it looks like an upside-down table.
• Baroque Gardens by the Castle
  • Surprisingly, very charming.
• Blue Church
  • First time seeing a blue church!

Eats

  • This grocery store had an incredible bread and pastry selection.
• Fresh Market – farmer’s market
  • Great food court, cute internal bookstore, cute sitting area in the common spaces and awesome farmers market.
