In order to reclaim contentment, we must reclaim our capacity for solitude.
Solitude isn’t just being alone; it is a sense of self that is not derived from internet connectivity.
In other words, being alone with your phone is not solitude.
It is leveraging technology as an easy escape from unwanted thoughts and underlying emotions.
Consciously establish a sense of self by harnessing solitude into personal and spiritual growth.
If we don’t teach our children how to be alone, then we doom them to always be lonely.
Reclaim your contentment.
This concept is discussed further in the book The Hacking Of The American Mind.
